Profile
Dream Labs builds a general robot 'brain' meant to run on robots from many makers. Its first model, Dream-1, is trained on video of people doing everyday tasks: it predicts what should happen next and turns a camera feed and a plain-English instruction into motor commands. The company says it can control two-armed gripper robots it has never seen without extra data, and it offers the model through a public API, with fine-tuning for other hardware and a browser 'playground' that drives robots in its San Francisco office. It handles tabletop tasks such as pick-and-place and laundry folding today, with wheeled robots and dexterous hands to follow, and says it works with more than 20 hardware partners whose robots cost about $2,000 to $10,000. The four co-founders led parts of NVIDIA's GR00T robotics research, including the DreamZero world action model released in February 2026. It came out of stealth on Oct 19, 2026 with a $90M seed led by B Capital.
Notes Founded in 2026 by former leads of NVIDIA's GR00T robotics research, according to the company's release. The CEO's title comes from that release; the other co-founders' titles come from 36Kr launch coverage.
