Zurich startup giving robots a sense of force and touch, from its own actuators up to a foundation model

Official website: enact-intelligence.com

Startup · No humanoid status · Robot foundation model · Zurich, Switzerland · Founded 2026

Profile

Enact Intelligence builds robots that sense force and touch as well as see. Its lead investor redalpine says the company feeds torque and touch data from the robot's actuators into a foundation model alongside vision and language, and designs its own actuators because standard ones show little of the torque at play. Enact says it is solving dexterity through force and touch, and its approach is meant to work on anything from a single arm to a full humanoid. It has not released a product and plans to work with industrial partners. Founder and CEO Manuel Yves Galliker helped develop the NEO humanoid at 1X Technologies and was on the technical staff at Physical Intelligence. Founded in Zurich in March 2026, it came out of stealth on Oct 22, 2026 with a $30M pre-seed round co-led by redalpine and Notion Capital, with firstminute capital and angels including Mistral's Arthur Mensch and Yann LeCun.

Notes Founded in March 2026, according to redalpine. The company also confirmed the $30M pre-seed on LinkedIn (public page). Former redalpine investor Philip Kneis has joined to lead growth.
