Profile

Enigma is a physical-AI lab that builds robot models meant to run on any hardware, along with interfaces that make robots easy to direct. Rather than starting from robot skills, it studies how people want to communicate with machines: text, voice, video demonstrations or tap-and-drag. To gather that data it put more than 100 of its own robot arms online at robots.online, where anyone can have them paint, fence with swords or mix chemistry flasks; the robots sit in hangars in Israel and California. It emerged from stealth in July 2026 with a $71M seed led by Index Ventures and Ribbit Capital, less than a year after its founding. Co-founders Jonathan Jacobi and Gal Niv served together in Israel's Unit 8200 and come from cybersecurity rather than robotics. The company says it is working with partners in healthcare, logistics and entertainment but has not named them.
