Summary (From press reports)
In a dialogue with Nikkei senior staff writer Kazuyuki Okudaira, Rubin said he expects humanoid hardware and operating systems to become standardized, so that competition shifts to application software for specific uses. Nikkei reports he described humanoids as replacing real-world tasks and multiplying productivity, and cited a large financial firm's forecast of a $7 trillion global humanoid market by 2050. In a follow-up interview with Nikkei he said robot behaviors could one day be bought and downloaded like smartphone apps, and he told Nikkei Asia that Genki plans to launch its first product this year and open its operating system to outside developers through an app-store-style marketplace.
